Walter Hyatt has been called “the Godfather of Americana Music” and “the Original Americana Artist” due to his amazing ability to span multiple genres from jazz to country and rock & roll. From his early days with Champ Hood and David Ball in Uncle Walt’s Band, to his time in Nashville as a member of The Contenders (with Hood, Steve Runkle and others), to his short but brilliant solo career, Walter has inspired musicians like Lyle Lovett and Nancy Griffith and he continues to shine a guiding light for a new generation of artists in Austin, Nashville, and beyond.
